Melina Meshako

Capital Specs provides quality architectural specifications and sustainable design consulting services.

Located in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, Capital Specs is a small, woman-owned business enterprise (WBE) founded in 2004 by Melina Renee Meshako, CCS, LEED AP.

Melina has completed project manuals for residential, commercial, retail, transportation, institutional, educational, historic renovation, interior, hospitality, and governmental facilities, both nationally and abroad.

Melina Renee Meshako, CCS, LEED AP is the sole proprietor of Capital Specs with more than 21 years of experience in the specifications writing business.

Melina’s career began in Hawaii as a specification writer for projects in Hawaii and Pacific-rim countries. She moved to San Francisco in 1995, and one year later, established her own firm, Melina Renee Specifications Consultants (MRSC)—which developed the specifications for the renovation of San Francisco City Hall (pictured above). After the SF City Hall project was completed several years later, Melina moved to Los Angeles and worked for DMJM. And in 2002, she relocated to the East Coast.

Melina is active in the construction industry; she has been an Officer in several Construction Specifications Institute Chapters as well as a Board Member for the Construction Inspection Manual Association. Melina also participated in the ARCOM MasterSpec Architectural Review Committee, Sustainable Buildings Industry Council, and is a member of SCIP (Specifications Consultants in Independent Practice).
